The shippers we run for have been with us over a decade because we answer the phone and the freight shows up. I'm past retirement age and my kids chose other work. I'd rather sell it whole to someone who understands drivers than watch it get parted out.

About the business

Regional carrier running dedicated automotive and industrial lanes with a stable driver roster and long-standing shipper relationships. Dispatch and safety are run by staff, not the owner. Fleet is maintained in-house on a documented schedule.

What customers know us for

The freight shows up. Two of our shippers have been with us more than fifteen years because a truck has never failed to leave the yard on a morning we said it would.

The crew

Eighteen. Sixteen drivers, twelve on payroll and four owner-operators, plus a dispatcher and a safety manager who between them run the day. The dispatcher has been here twenty-two years.

Why now

I am past retirement age and my children chose other work. I would rather sell it whole to someone who understands drivers than watch it get parted out at an auction.

How much runs without the owner

Dispatch and safety run without me. The shipper relationships are mine, and those are the business, so I would expect to spend a year introducing a buyer to every one of them.

Where the work comes from

Two dedicated automotive lanes under contract carry most of the revenue. The rest is industrial freight for shippers we have hauled for over a decade. We have not taken a load off a load board in years.

Room to grow

Brokerage. We turn down freight every week that we could place with carriers we know. A buyer with a brokerage authority could add a desk and a margin without adding a truck.

Who Helen would hand it to

Someone who has managed drivers and knows what a bad month costs. I want the lanes kept and the drivers kept. The name can change; the people cannot.

Terms Helen is open to

All cash at close — nothing elseEvery other structure is off the table. Fewer buyers can do this, and stating it up front saves everyone time.
Anything else Helen wants you to know

The terminal is owned and can be sold with the business or leased back. I am not carrying a note. Two consolidators have offered the run-out price and I said no both times.

Every figure and description here is the owner’s own. Onward verified that they own the business. Figures are published as bands, not exact numbers, so the business can’t be identified. Nothing here is a valuation or a recommendation.
